SEER2 measures how much cooling a system delivers for the electricity it uses over a cooling season. Higher is more efficient.
Why SEER2
Since 2023, systems are rated with an updated test (SEER2) that better reflects real-world conditions, so SEER2 numbers look a little lower than old SEER numbers for the same system.
Is higher always better?
Higher-efficiency systems cost more up front and save more on electricity. In a hot climate with long cooling seasons, efficiency matters more.
